Deborah Austin Photography

“The camera is my tool that captures what my imagination sees, to precisely seize that exact moment in time.”

I am a native of Arizona, a serious photographer and a working cowgirl. Some of the favorite subjects include working cowboys while out gathering cattle herds and doing other ranch chores. While working on ranches many of my “shots” are literally taken while in the saddle, moving the cattle along the trails, hills, canyons and flats.

In the 70s I focused on black and white images, processing my original work in the darkroom. In 1999 I spent two weeks in a Rainbow Camp using strictly black and white film with a medium format camera.

My Image Ideas

My interest with photography can be very diversified but most anything old with character will catch my eye. I will happily answer any questions about my photography.
